Membership in Santa County Board of REALTORS® is entirely voluntary, but carries with it the responsibility for each REALTOR® member to adhere to a strict Code of Ethics. When Real estate professionals join SCCBR, as part of their membership, they automatically become members of both the Arizona Association of REALTORS®, and the National Association of REALTORS®. The NAR Code of Ethics, which establishes a public and private standard of behavior for REALTOR® members when dealing with the public and other real estate professionals, is enforced at the state level by AAR.
Ethics enforcement by the REALTOR® association is the most important distinction between a REALTOR® and a real estate licensee. REALTORS® are obligated by their membership to follow the Code and are subject to discipline if found in violation. AAR offers its members and their clients and customers a vehicle to economically expedite ethics complaints and/or arbitration requests without going to court. If a monetary dispute arises from a real estate transaction or if you believe a REALTOR® may have acted in an unethical manner, seek a resolution through AAR.
